Today students were learning about the difference between mass and weight. They also did a nearpod on Gravity. Once they completed this they reviewed for a test on Physics.
Today in class, students were creating an electromagnet. If you missed this assignment, please come in before or after school to make it up. Students are encouraged to go through the Review and Practice quiz on Electromagnets in Canvas.
Today in class students did a Nearpod on Gravity. Students are going to a website called nearpod.com. The code they will use is TSPFD. Students can move through these at their own pace but should be encouraged to spend at least 5-10 minutes on each of the simulations to be able to answer the questions at the end
September 26/27- Today in class we will be reviewing Magnets and then taking Mastery Check #3. Make sure to go through the review and practice quiz in Canvas to help you feel more prepared. We will then start learning about how to make an electromagnet so that we can do it next time.
September 20/23- Today we are looking at Magnetic Fields. Please go to these two Phet Simulations and take time working through them until you are sure you understand what is happening.
Phet #1 Magnets and Compasses (Links to an external site.) Phet #2 Static Electricity September 24/25- Today in class students are going through a Static Electricity activity lab (Links to an external site.). They will also be reading about how Static Electricity works (Links to an external site.) and being able to answer questions about positive and negative parts. Please do all of this at home that you are able to so that you are ready for the next class. Today in class students are going through a Static Electricity activity lab. Phet #1 Magnets and Compasses Phet #2 Static Electricity Today in class we will be reviewing Newton's 3rd Law by going through the Canvas review and taking the practice quiz. We will then take a Mastery Check on this before moving onto learning about compasses and magnetic fields.
Today in class students reviewed Newton's 3rd Law and then created an experiment to test how far a balloon with travel with different amounts of air put into it. We also evaluate how Newton's 3rd law explains how when the air is released in one direction the balloon will go in the opposite direction.
