Today we took Mastery Check #1 which was on Tissues. We then began our lesson which was called Doctor for a Day. Students were given a list of symptoms that a patient would be experiencing and they were to try and diagnose the patient and figure out which organs and which systems were being effected.
Today we reviewed Tissues by looking at the notes from last time and making sentences to relate one of the 4 plant tissue types to one of the 4 animal tissue types. We then shared our Organ Articles from last time. Once we had shared these we began by looking at the structure of a flower and how all the parts help the overall function and then we looked at the heart and did the same. Here is the worksheet for that.
Today we talked about the different types of tissues and we evaluated the difference between structure and function. Structure is the way that it is formed and the shape that it has and function is the job it has. The structure often helps it function appropriately. Please look at these notes on the 8 different types of tissues, their structure and their function. Be prepared to present the organ articles from last time.
Today we will be presenting on the Organ Article paper we did last time after the cell test. Make sure the article is with you in class and that you have read it and are prepared to share your thoughts. Then we will be discussing different types of tissues. Please review these notes
