Today in class we are learning about the stages of Mitosis. Please go to the module in Canvas with notes and videos to watch on the topic.

HeLa: Go through the slideshow and the socratic seminar paper on Canvas if you are absent. We will be discussing this scenario and bioethics as a class. Be prepared to participate.
HeLa Slideshow HeLa socratic seminar Today in class we took a Mastery Check on Organelles, Cell Theory, Homeostasis and Prokaryote/Eukaryotes. We then looked through microscopes at several different things to look at the cells and identify the features. Here is a link to the questions we went through as we did this. If you were absent you can search for microscopic images of these things and answer them on your own.
Today we reviewed the Organelles students researched last time and then created an analogy to place each organelle function to an analogous part of Timberline Middle School. Please watch the video below to review the organelles and their functions. Click here to view the notes/slides that Mrs. King will use this entire unit. Once that is done, any remaining time can be spend remediating term 1's grade.

Today in class, we graded our notebooks, and then reviewed before taking Mastery Check #3 on Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration. Students were then given this review for the Cellular Processes test to work on to be ready to take the test on Wednesday. The test is going on Term 2's grade.
Today we are going to take a Mastery Check on Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration. We are then going to grade our notebooks to ensure they are organized and students are participating appropriately. We then are discussing what the mystery chemical was from last time and going over the 8 properties of water. Students will then be given a study guide to work on for the weekend so that they will be prepared for a test on Tuesday. The test will go on their term 2 grade.
Today in class we graded out notebooks, took a Mastery Check on Water Properties and finished learning about Photosynthesis and Respiration by doing two lab demonstrations. Students should study to prepare themselves for a test next week on all of Cellular Processes.
